On the 48th anniversary of the state���s formation as a unit separate from the Bombay Presidency, renowned Gujarati historian, Makarand Mehta,launched the first part of his anthology on legendary Gujarati pioneers and leaders roughly in the period between the 13th and 20th centuries.
Present on the occasion were veteran politician, Ashok Bhatt, littreteur Dhiru Thaker, respected citizen, Prabha Chinubhai and fashion consultant, Umang Hutheesing. ���I wanted to introduce Gujarati society and especially the younger generation to our priceless historical heritage in simple language,��� said Mehta on the occasion.
